Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Customers Today handles personal data when you use our website, business application and connected integrations. Your business remains responsible for its own customer-facing privacy information.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers personal data relating to Customers Today account holders, business users and the people who contact a business through a connected source.
For most enquiry data, the business using Customers Today decides why the data is collected and how it is used. The business should provide its own privacy notice to its customers.
2. Information we process
We may process account and business details, sign-in and security information, connected integration settings, enquiry content, customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, submitted form details and technical information such as logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Where an integration sends an email or form submission, we may keep the original content separately so your business can understand what was received and investigate an issue.
3. Why we use information
We use personal data to create and secure accounts, receive and display enquiries, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain the service and meet legal obligations.
Where permitted by applicable law, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure and reliable service, your consent where required, and legal obligations.
4. AI-assisted classification
If your business enables AI-assisted processing, enquiry content may be sent to the AI provider selected in your Customers Today settings so that we can generate a short summary, extract useful contact details and help distinguish likely customer enquiries from marketing or spam.
AI output can be incomplete or wrong. It is not used to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and your business remains responsible for reviewing messages and taking action.
5. Sharing and service providers
We use service providers that help us host the service, store data, send or receive email, provide AI processing when enabled, and maintain security. They receive only the information needed to perform their role and must protect it appropriately.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a lawful business reorganisation.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside your country. When this happens, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
7. Retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for security, support, dispute resolution or legal obligations.
Enquiry information is retained according to the settings and relationship between Customers Today and the business using the service, unless a longer period is required by law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No internet service can promise absolute security, so account holders should also use strong, unique credentials and protect access to their integrations.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
If your data was supplied to Customers Today by a business you contacted, contact that business first. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Customers Today develops or privacy requirements change. The current version is always published here.
If you have questions about privacy or want to exercise a right, contact the Customers Today team.
